SKY OX "BANDIT" OXYGEN BOOM/CANNULA

The Bandit oxygen boom manufactured by Sky Ox is a semi-permanent installation attached to the pilot’s or passenger’s headset. The boom is positioned near the base of your nose, with the SkyOx Chad pendant reservoir resting on your chest.  It eliminates the need for ear straps or to route the more traditional Oxysaver Cannula lines over headset cups.  They believe that safety is enhanced during IFR conditions, as the distraction of donning the traditional cannula is eliminated. 

This item sells for $90.00 from Sky Ox, but the price does NOT include the necessary connector, nor the required in-line flow meter. Like the traditional cannulas, it is not approved for use over 18,000 ft.  If used without a needle valve to control the flow, and altitude, you will be blowing through your cylinder in no time, with dried out nasal passages to boot..  In addition, the tubing used in the accompanying Chad chest Pendant and the boom itself  is stiff and quite large and therefore unwieldy and uncomfortable.. This application is NOT  RECOMMENDED for precise delivery, comfort, affordability or oxygen conservation..  We believe the Aerox Upgrade kits (see above) for your aircraft are the most affordable, most precise and most comfortable, and continue to be today's Accepted Standard of Excellence.

ROCKET ENGINEERING AIRBOOM CANNULA
(Designed for use with your Bose)

The AirBoom Cannula by Rocket Engineering is considerably more comfortable than is the Sky Ox Bandit, as it it NOT accompanied by the uncomfortable, unwielding chest pendant cannula and its thick tubing.  It does NOT, however,  improve oxygen conservation over that offered by the more traditional Oxysaver Cannula.  It does provide an additional feature of offering a moist air/oxygen blend jet which eliminates a great deal of any nose/throat irritation one may experience from the constant flow of oxygen.  Like all cannulas, it has been approved for use up to 18,000 feet.  This is an approved Bose accessory, and can be built into any Bose headset.

This item sells for $399.  It has the same drawback as the Bandit, however, in that it has been approved for use only up to 18,000 feet, nor does the price include the required in-line flow meter and/or connector and needle valve..   We do NOT recommend this application over the Aerox Oxysaver Kits (see above) for your aircraft.  We understand the draw for a pilot with a Bose headset, but you will blow through your cylinder in a matter of hours since this item has no flow control/needle valve.  We believe the Aerox Upgrade Kits for your aircraft remain the most effective Industry standard, and remain the most affordable.

RETROFIT CONSERVER KITS -  Scott/Puritan Bennett/Aerox/Nelson

Includes the PRECISEFLOW Conserver unit, one fase mask, one dual lumen cannula, tubing, In-line flow indicator and pressure regulator - and the quick connector for your system.  Nelson claims this upgrade is 3-5 times more efficient that its A3 or A4 flow meters. Assembled and ready to  use!

MOUNTAIN HIGH OXYGEN has recently introduced their facemasks: the ALPS FaceMask ($199) and ALPS-M FaceMask ($350) - the latter with an electronic microphone

They claim the mask is easy to put on and exceptionally comfortable as it does not require a polyvinyl bag.
